Emergency Home Assistance Program for Elderly
The Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP) is a federally funded program that helps low-income households with at least one resident who is 60 or older pay for home energy costs during an emergency. EHEAP can help with utility bills, repairs to heating or cooling equipment, reconnection fees, and vouchers for fans, portable heaters, and blankets.
To be eligible, households must be:
- Have at least one resident who is 60 or older
- Be experiencing a home energy crisis, such as disconnected, delinquent, or past due bill
- Meet income eligibility requirements
